Though I know that it is not too late for me, I had only discovered the lessons at the age of 40. As the Chinese proverb says, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” I guess I was not ready for life’s biggest lesson. No, not love. It is about life and wealth. I feel this is the most important lesson anyone can learn. It is because of money that makes man lose the ones they love. No matter what it seems, a broken marriage and the cause of many quarrels is usually due to financial problems, or the lack of money. When a man marries another wife, as many men are tending to do these days, in this country, the main concern is not if the man will give enough love to each wife, but if the man is able to continue to provide the ‘luxuries’ or expected financial security which he has been providing; more so to the first wife, now that he has a second one. Think about it. Enough that one family is struggling with their finances, let alone another family to be created. What are men thinking about?! Well that’s another topic altogether to talk about.
I have learnt much from reading this book in February 2006. It has helped me overcome my financial difficulties which I had experienced in 2005. I read the book once again this week, to find out if I have been putting the lessons into practice and I am happy to say that if anyone follows the advice in this book, it would be well worth it for many, many years to come. It is not just about money and being wealthy financially. It is all about life and being wealthy spiritually by being able to achieve financial freedom.
I would like all young people out there to learn the lessons in this book. Therefore, I have had my son and my husband (my fingers crossed that he will read it) read it as well. With the economic crisis happening on a global scale, it is a major concern that many have been declared bankrupt and many, many more are struggling with financial debt. Pass the word, and teach everyone these five lessons. Thank you Richard Paul Evans!
