Education and learning is a lifelong process; not limited to academic learning but also acquiring the necessary life skills for surviving in the environment we put ourselves in.
Today's world is a fast paced and challenging. Academic skills are not enough to enable an individual to live a life of which he or she is self sufficient and yet be able to handle the emotions and traumas of human interaction. Between the ages 16 years and 29 years, older even, many will have faced issues relating to work, career, marriage, family, finance, social life and much more.
"Life skills development for youths help them enhance their lifestyle and individual performance."
What are Life Skills?
UNICEF, in its commitment to Education For All, has adopted Life Skills Based Education around the world as a means to empower young people in challenging situations. They define Life Skills Based Education as using participatory methods that allow all participants (including the facilitator) equal opportunities to listen to, and learn from, each other and can appeal to different learning styles.
"Where implemented with high quality, life skills-based education can result in quality learners achieving quality educational outcome."
Discover beauty within your mind, heart and soul, to live an exceptional life; simple yet refined... I changed my mindset to design my own lifestyle and live life according to my own terms. Only by the laws of the universe and ethics of love, kindness and understanding and eliminating negative thoughts and fears have I only begun to unleash my potential and enjoy my life's journey as an adventure. #AuntyFaizahLifeAdventures

Lessons for Financial Freedom
On the journey to success, one of the most important things to be able to have is financial freedom. I am not talking about having a day to day job with a monthly salary which you can count on. Of course, a job would mean security and benefits. You owe that to your family to have a job with security and benefits, especially if you have started a family and have small children. Not everyone can work for themselves and be able to assure financial security for their family. This is not speaking of those who have already made it and business has been running smoothly for the past five years. Even so, economic downturn can turn the tables around if you haven’t been planning ahead for such disasters and many have suffered the consequences of taking the life’s easy moments for granted.
Though I know that it is not too late for me, I had only discovered the lessons at the age of 40. As the Chinese proverb says, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” I guess I was not ready for life’s biggest lesson. No, not love. It is about life and wealth. I feel this is the most important lesson anyone can learn. It is because of money that makes man lose the ones they love. No matter what it seems, a broken marriage and the cause of many quarrels is usually due to financial problems, or the lack of money. When a man marries another wife, as many men are tending to do these days, in this country, the main concern is not if the man will give enough love to each wife, but if the man is able to continue to provide the ‘luxuries’ or expected financial security which he has been providing; more so to the first wife, now that he has a second one. Think about it. Enough that one family is struggling with their finances, let alone another family to be created. What are men thinking about?! Well that’s another topic altogether to talk about.
I have learnt much from reading this book in February 2006. It has helped me overcome my financial difficulties which I had experienced in 2005. I read the book once again this week, to find out if I have been putting the lessons into practice and I am happy to say that if anyone follows the advice in this book, it would be well worth it for many, many years to come. It is not just about money and being wealthy financially. It is all about life and being wealthy spiritually by being able to achieve financial freedom.
I would like all young people out there to learn the lessons in this book. Therefore, I have had my son and my husband (my fingers crossed that he will read it) read it as well. With the economic crisis happening on a global scale, it is a major concern that many have been declared bankrupt and many, many more are struggling with financial debt. Pass the word, and teach everyone these five lessons. Thank you Richard Paul Evans!

Working on Myself
I believe in the words, "working on myself more than on my job", as Business Philosopher, Jim Rohn says. First we have got to write down what we want in life; our Goals and Dreams. Then, we set out to achieve them by making ourselves attractive to attract success.
Books to read to begin your journey of self discovery:-

"How to Make the Rest of Your Life, the Best of Your Life", by Mark Victor Hansen & Art Linkletter, if you're in your 50's, even better if you're younger, like me, or

"How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be", by Jack Canfield
...and you will know what I mean. It's all about living the lifestyle: Being healthy, making your fortune, and enjoying the journey towards our dreams with the ones we love. I hope to be able to share experiences and this amazing journey called "life" with everyone who feels the same and that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
And so begins the journey of self discovery....
